Kathleen McCombs
Kathleen McCombs is a Periodontist based in Draper, Utah. She has built her private practice, SouthTowne Periodontics, into a leading provider of dental health solutions, offering state-of-the-art surgical and non-surgical treatments in addition to cosmetic enhancement services. Practicing since 1992, Kathleen McCombs received her MSD in periodontics from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, one of the foremost programs of its kind in the nation. While pursuing her doctorate, Kathleen McCombs served as a Clinical Instructor of pre-doctoral periodontics, enhancing her practical understanding of periodontics through teaching.
Kathleen McCombs possesses 24 years of experience in periodontics, utilizing her clinical knowledge and surgical experience to present at numerous venues over the years. The seminars in which she has presented have covered a wide range of subject matter from oral plastic surgery techniques to bone augmentation and reconstruction. Widely recognized for her implantology expertise, Kathleen McCombs has lectured on dental implant techniques at numerous dental schools throughout the United States, in addition to the presentations she has conducted for other private practice dentists, professional dental associations, and international dental societies.
Kathleen McCombs held a variety of teaching positions after completing her MSD. In 1993 and 1994, she was a part-time faculty member at the Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. There, Kathleen McCombs taught a two-year periodontics course with a focus on pediatric dentistry. Following this teaching position, Kathleen McCombs served as a Guest Lecturer at Weber State University Ogden. The course in periodontics is an integral part of the university’s dental hygiene program, and Dr. Kathleen McCombs was able to utilize her field experience for the lectures she gave in 1994, 1995, and 1996. Kathleen McCombs also served as a Guest Lecturer for the dental hygiene program at Salt Lake Community College, a position she held from 2000 through 2003.
In 2001, Kathleen McCombs accepted an invitation to speak as a Visiting Scholar at the National Institute of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City. This invitation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health was a great honor for Dr. Kathleen McCombs. In conjunction with maintaining a successful private practice, Kathleen McCombs continues to share her professional knowledge with colleagues and students alike.
